Checks must have an MICR line
Along the bottom border of the check, your account number and
your bank's "routing number" (ABA Number) must be printed in a peculiar
font known as "MICR font".
Automated processing equipment used by US banks will not work if your
check does not have an MICR line. (MICR stands for Magnetic Ink
Character Recognition.)
